When it comes to sunscreen, your scalp often gets overlooked and I’ll admit it’s not something I’d normally think about but certainly would have come in handy one particularly hot afternoon.
Back in the noughties, I’d signed up as a movie and TV extra, but on this particular day, I was left badly sunburnt. The casting company never told us we’d be filming outside and by late afternoon, I was radiating heat and just pretty uncomfortable.
Needless to say, I wasn’t too keen to film the next day. That night, my brother suggested I use La Mer’s Moisturizing Creme which my mother happened to be using at the time. I was hesitant to use too much (because of the price tag) but it worked wonderfully on my sunburnt skin.
Since then, I’ve developed a lot of sun spots (thanks to our harsh Australian summers) but am slowly reversing the damage with our Reverse Regimen. However, today I stumbled across an article that suggested the use of Peter Thomas Roth’s Instant Mineral SPF 45 to your scalp. Has anyone tried this? It actually made me think of our own version of mineral powder which I hope will be released in Australia after our upcoming launch.
Either way, it’s something to think about if you don’t want to use normal sunscreen on your scalp – or when you’ve forgotten your hat.
